Retta Baptist Church, a small north Texas congregation that once ranked among the fastest-growing Southern Baptist churches, had seen membership stall and then decline. The new leadership recognized that decades-old, desktop-bound systems limited access to member information, prayer requests, and giving, making it difficult to reconnect congregants and support growth.
Retta implemented Blackbaud Church Management — a cloud-based platform for online giving, email/text communication, event tracking, secure child check-in, and analytics — and used the conversion to clean up its directory and finances. The result: broader access to communication tools (bridging gaps between younger and older members), a dynamic Virtual Prayer Wall, increased online tithing, and renewed membership growth to about 150 and counting.
