A Blackbaud Case Study
Purdue Research Foundation, which advances the mission of Purdue University, faced inefficient and outdated reporting that limited gift officers’ ability to manage portfolios, plan travel, and measure annual giving performance. Reports were not self‑service and often stale by the time they were used, forcing heavy reliance on prospect researchers and making it difficult to use data for day‑to‑day fundraising decisions.
Purdue implemented Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management (with Blackbaud Target Analytics) to provide nightly‑updated, self‑service reporting and portfolio visualization. Gift officers now run their own prospect and travel lists, see real‑time metrics like days since last contact, and pull appeal performance instantly; prospect researchers were freed for strategic work. Results include improved executive reporting, more proactive research and pipeline management, and a 16% decrease in time from first visit to first major gift.
