Phi Kappa Psi Foundation, which supports 80,000 living fraternity members through scholarships, leadership programs, and housing campaigns, faced the common Greek-life challenge of very low response rates to outreach. The foundation needed better tools and a strategy to reconnect alumni of all ages and make the right ask, to the right people, at the right time.
Partnering with Blackbaud for data enrichment, fundraising and financial management, and digital marketing allowed the foundation to keep contact data current, target members by preferred channels (direct mail, online and social), and tailor solicitation asks. The approach helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars—more than $590,000 for educational programming and leadership development in 2017 and over $100,000 in scholarships to 45 members in 2018—while strengthening long-term engagement and expanding the donor base.
