PepsiCo employees across the world join together to fight hunger through strategic partnerships

PepsiCo Foundation works to alleviate hunger by mobilizing PepsiCo employees worldwide, but faced the challenge of coordinating a large, distributed workforce for high-impact volunteer events. Through its annual PepsiCo Gives Back initiative the program grew from a handful of volunteers to tens of thousands, culminating in nearly 40,000 employees participating in 2019 and creating a need for better registration, logistics, and impact tracking.

PepsiCo partnered with Rise Against Hunger for meal‑packaging expertise and adopted Blackbaud’s YourCause CSRConnect to manage employee giving, volunteering, event sign‑ups, hour tracking, and matching gifts. The combined approach enabled streamlined logistics and reporting, engaged ~40,000 employees, and delivered 1.1 million nutritious meals to communities in need, with plans to scale further.
