Park Foundation, a grantmaking organization supporting the environment, media, animal welfare and local programs, adopted Blackbaud GIFTS Online in 2015 to manage roughly 700 grant application requests a year. While the platform and its Online Application tool promised to streamline intake, staff faced a steep learning curve—so the foundation’s grants manager, Tania Yannarilli, prioritized formal training to ensure the system was used effectively.

Park Foundation enrolled in Blackbaud University’s instructor-led GIFTS Online training (now a three-hour, hands-on class) and fully implemented the Online Application workflow. The combination cut time spent on manual data entry, improved staff confidence with infrequent processes, and let Tania share best practices across the team—resulting in more efficient grant operations and ongoing adoption of new Blackbaud features.
