Variety — the Children’s Charity NSW/ACT has supported kids with illness, disadvantage or special needs since 1975, helping children with more than 200 different conditions. Faced with a changing sector (including the NDIS) and rising expectations to measure and report social impact, the charity struggled with fragmented data, low staff adoption of its old systems and no single source of truth.

After reviewing six providers, Variety implemented Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT cloud CRM to centralise client, grant and donor information. Within six months the whole 28‑person organisation was using the system, grant processing fell from two days to about 30 minutes, and Variety can now manage donor relationships and reporting more effectively—allowing them to help more families faster and grow revenue to support their work.
