Nova Southeastern University, a 300-acre institution near Fort Lauderdale serving 22,000 students and 188,000 alumni across undergraduate, graduate, K–12, and community programs, faced limitations from a simple database that made data entry and access difficult. With a small advancement team (12 development officers and three staff serving alumni), NSU needed a way to scale outreach, prioritize prospects, and engage alumni more strategically.

By implementing Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management to capture call reports, map donors, run analytics and real‑time reporting, NSU focused officer assignments and scaled outreach without adding staff. The result: annual fundraising grew about 67% (from roughly $12M to $20M) with fewer resources, paper mailings fell as email appeals grew, and the university completed a $250M campaign three years early.
