Northern Illinois Food Bank - Customer Case Study

Northern Illinois Food Bank is a nonprofit that coordinates food and fund donations across 13 counties, supplying more than 600 partner agencies and serving over 60,000 people weekly. Before joining the Go! program in 2012 it had no regular eCommunications since early 2011, lacked a defined online communications plan and consistent branding, needed to grow its email housefile, and had limited staff time to implement an online program.

By participating in Go!’s 12-month program—attending biweekly meetings, using monthly projects, adopting ready-made email and donation templates, and running a donor-backed eCard housefile campaign—NIFB established a multichannel communications plan and consistent website/email branding. The first campaign drove 468 people to send nearly 2,400 eCards and helped lift average email open rates from 15% to 18% within six months.
