North Texas Food Bank, which serves a 13-county area, faced unprecedented demand for food during the COVID-19 crisis while social distancing made traditional food drives and volunteer efforts difficult. The organization needed a way to keep donors engaged and attract new supporters despite restrictions on in-person activity.
NTFB launched a Virtual Food Drive using JustGiving from Blackbaud, letting supporters create personalized peer-to-peer fundraising pages that integrate with Raiser’s Edge NXT. In the first eight weeks supporters raised $57,000—including more than $20,000 from a Tech Mahindra campaign and $11,000 from a local photographer—driving new donor acquisition, brand awareness, and stronger supporter relationships.
