Newseum Goes Online with Blackbaud® NetCommunity™

The Newseum in Washington, D.C. is a 250,000 sq. ft. museum dedicated to news and the First Amendment. Ahead of its opening, the museum needed to accept online donations, minimize administrative time spent moving data between its website and primary database, and create a low‑barrier way to gather constituent email addresses.

The Newseum chose Blackbaud NetCommunity integrated with its donor system, Raiser's Edge, enabling online one‑time gifts and pledge payments and automated data flows. Using e‑newsletters to communicate weekly with members and monthly with donors, the museum saved time and money while tracking engagement; it now offers easier joining and renewal, has more than 5,000 members, and acquired 98 households at the $1,000–$10,000 levels since opening in April 2008.
