A Blackbaud Case Study
The National Scouting Museum, the Boy Scouts of America’s official museum founded in 1959, preserves more than a century of Scouting history. The Museum struggled with an inadequate ticketing system (Ticketmaster Vista), high fees and time-consuming phone registration processes—staff handled over 10,000 registrations and sometimes spent 30+ hours a week on calls—preventing the team from launching new public programs.
The Museum moved to Altru through the BSA contract and adopted Blackbaud Merchant Services along with targeted training from Blackbaud University. The switch enabled online sales and registrations, streamlined reconciliation and social media workflows, and freed staff to develop popular STEM and Scout advancement workshops that now reach thousands more visitors while improving overall customer service.
