Mulgrave School shifts fundraising strategy to support families during COVID-19

Mulgrave School, an independent preK–12 day school in Vancouver, faced sudden financial strain when COVID‑19 disrupted families’ incomes and threatened enrollment. Administrators shifted to e‑learning and virtual events and needed a fast, low‑touch way to raise emergency tuition support while preserving community connections.

By using Blackbaud’s suite for fundraising, enrollment, marketing and payments—including Raiser’s Edge NXT and Online Express—the school moved donations online, automated donor and card updates, and consolidated reporting. In two months Mulgrave raised $100,000 for its Community Relief Fund, pledged to cover tuition for families in need with no repayment required, and is now focusing on growing monthly sustaining gifts.
