Meredith College, a private institution in Raleigh, NC, and a Blackbaud customer since 2005, had just completed a wildly successful $75M campaign (raising more than $90M) and faced the challenge of identifying and cultivating the next generation of donors. With limited staff and time—compounded by pandemic constraints—the advancement team needed a way to discover untapped major-gift prospects and make data-driven decisions about who to cultivate and what to ask for.

Meredith implemented Blackbaud’s data intelligence suite, including ResearchPoint screenings, custom predictive modeling, prospect research, and consultant support to prioritize and profile donors. An initial screening flagged about 10,000 potential major-gift prospects, and custom models narrowed that to 2,376 high-likelihood, capacity-qualified prospects (predicted capacity ≥ $1,000/year), improving ask strategy, gift officer targeting, and donor cultivation across gift levels.
