Mennonite Church USA, the largest U.S. Mennonite denomination with 16 conferences, about 530 congregations, and 62,000 members, needed a better way to keep congregation contact information current. Relying on conference ministers to submit updates during an upgrade to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT highlighted the need to connect systems and automate processes to save staff time and reduce manual work.

MC USA’s IT team implemented the certified Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT connector with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint and Power BI) to build an online portal for conference ministers and an automated approval workflow for database administrators. The solution sped the NXT upgrade, reduced development time, streamlined updates, improved data accuracy, and added a public “Find a Church” search powered by Power BI.
