Los Angeles Conservation Corps - Customer Case Study

Los Angeles Conservation Corps is the largest nonprofit urban corps in the U.S., operating about 200 projects a year with roughly 150 staff across a 100-mile radius and an annual budget near $25 million. Finance relied on fragile, multi-linked Excel workbooks and supplemental spreadsheets that made budget creation slow, error-prone and lacking pay-period detail, while dispersed field staff struggled to access timely financials, approve purchases, and allocate payroll across projects.

By adding Advanced Budget Management, WebPurchasing, ADP ezLaborManager and Blackbaud Application Hosting on top of Financial Edge, program managers now load and manage their own budgets, approvals and payroll allocations from the field. The change eliminated re-keying and long email approval chains, produced detailed pay-period budgets for more than $24M, saved staff hours, improved reporting and compliance, and shifted the organization from reactive to proactive financial management.
