A Blackbaud Case Study
KRWG 90.7 FM, New Mexico State University's public media service for southern New Mexico and West Texas, relied on an outdated fundraising system from a very small vendor that offered limited support. The station faced poor data quality with outdated and duplicate donor records, lacked backup and security, had little reporting capability, and spent excessive staff time on manual, non‑intuitive processes.
In 2001 KRWG implemented eTapestry for database management and email outreach, allowing them to systematize fundraising, clean and maintain 6,900+ constituent records, run better reports, and send targeted mass communications. The changes produced immediate gains — KRWG raised $193,000 in 2001 and over $460,000 in 2010 (a more than 300% increase over ten years), grew its donor base by roughly 50%, and freed development staff to focus on supporter engagement.
