A Blackbaud Case Study
Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes, founded in 1982, is the largest charitable food distribution system in Kalamazoo County, operating 24 food pantries, managing over 400 weekly volunteers and maintaining roughly 20,000 donor and client records. As demand and data grew, the organization found its existing fundraising tools and processes couldn’t keep pace, limiting online fundraising and stretching staff time.
Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes upgraded from eTapestry to Raiser’s Edge NXT and Luminate Online, used Blackbaud’s Go! training program, and launched a new website that feeds online forms directly into the database. The integrated system automated time‑consuming tasks, simplified reporting and analytics, freed staff to focus on fundraising, and helped deliver a year‑end campaign that finished $70,000 over budget, enabling expanded services.
