The Joe Andruzzi Foundation, started by former New England Patriot Joe Andruzzi after his recovery from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, provides financial and emotional support to cancer patients and their families. For its biggest fundraiser, the New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala, the Foundation needed an easy, on-the-go payment solution to process auction payments, cut checkout lines, and keep donors satisfied.

The Foundation implemented Blackbaud MobilePay and Blackbaud Merchant Services, enabling volunteers to process more than 225 transactions and eliminate lines. Nearly $200,000 of the Gala’s $700,000 total came from MobilePay transactions, contributing to the most successful Gala in the event’s six-year history and allowing staff to focus more on mission-critical work.
