Illinois Institute of Technology, a national technological research university, launched the Fueling Innovation Campaign with a $250 million goal to strengthen its research and innovation capacity for future generations. The challenge was to show how donor involvement drives innovation by telling compelling stories of faculty, students, and alumni and to create a distinctive digital experience that would ignite engagement for the capital campaign.

Blackbaud Interactive built a striking microsite using a dynamic grid and hover effects that transition black-and-white portraits to full-color stories, with prominent donation tallies and calls-to-action to drive alumni giving. The site’s iPad-driven launch generated campus-wide buzz, increased interaction with campaign stories, and earned two Interactive Media Awards plus the Pride of CASE V Award, boosting campaign momentum and visibility.
