A Blackbaud Case Study
The UConn Foundation, which raises philanthropic support for the University of Connecticut and UConn Health, needed to deepen board and donor engagement and accelerate major gift pipeline development while managing growing data complexity. Their challenge was to surface high-capacity, highly engaged prospects and give fundraisers and leadership clear visibility into board activity and priority portfolios.
Using Blackbaud CRM with wealth and asset screening, the Foundation built a dynamic portfolio-optimization tool (its “Strike Zone”) and data-driven dashboards to prioritize prospects and track board engagement. The results: FY2022 brought a record $115 million from more than 21,000 donors (a 23% increase over the prior year), Strike Zone prospect assignments rose from 65% to 85%, and the Foundation achieved its highest fundraising total for the third consecutive year.
