A Blackbaud Case Study
Blackbaud’s employee volunteer corps, Team Blackbaud, set out from its Charleston headquarters to join a Habitat for Humanity build in 2012 and faced the challenge of scaling a single-site volunteer effort into a coordinated, multi-location impact that could engage remote employees and multiple offices simultaneously.
On May 18, 2012, five teams (San Diego, Indianapolis, Miami, Charleston and Atlanta) mobilized more than 120 volunteers to work on seven Habitat for Humanity sites—pounding nails, framing houses, painting, building sheds and more. The effort not only advanced homes for deserving families but connected remote employees, fostered teamwork across locations, and left volunteers with pride and a renewed commitment to community service.
