Grand Canyon Conservancy, the official philanthropic partner of Grand Canyon National Park, was ramping up for a major fundraising campaign but faced inefficient, oversized major-gift portfolios. New prospect research manager Cassie Chilcutt found many assigned constituents had low likelihood to give—two gift officers were each managing roughly 120 prospects—making it difficult to prioritize high-impact donors.
By adopting Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT with Prospect Insights, GCC used AI-driven capacity and likelihood indicators and prescriptive recommendations to streamline portfolios. In a short time Chilcutt reassigned and removed low-likelihood prospects—reducing the two primary officers’ lists by more than one-third—identified higher-capacity donors (including a billionaire), and established ongoing AI monitoring to improve efficiency, ROI, and targeted asks.
