George Heriot’s School Partners with Blackbaud to Improve Constituent Communications

George Heriot’s School, founded in 1628 and now educating over 1,500 pupils, partnered with Blackbaud to improve alumni and donor communications. The school needed to maintain contact with former pupils and friends to raise funds and provide bursaries, but lacked an effective way to manage and target its large constituent base, resulting in untargeted outreach and missed fundraising opportunities.

By implementing The Raiser's Edge and working with Blackbaud Consulting Services, the school segmented alumni by class, house and interests, launched a focused Annual Fund campaign, and automated previously manual processes. The result was a more personalized communications program, the Annual Fund target reached several months ahead of schedule, and significant time savings through automation.
