A Blackbaud Case Study

Preview of the Central Carolina Community Foundation Case Study

Foundation’s One SC Fund builds connections and provides quick and impactful relief during disasters

Central Carolina Community Foundation houses the One SC Fund, a statewide disaster relief pool created after the 2015 floods to support recovery across South Carolina. When COVID-19 became the first pandemic-sized disaster to affect all 46 counties, the foundation faced unprecedented scale and uncertainty in meeting urgent needs for food, housing, utilities, and medical assistance.

Using integrated Blackbaud solutions for fundraising, relationship management, and fund accounting—plus ACH payments and partnerships with statewide organizations—the foundation streamlined grant processing and distribution. As a result, the One SC Fund deployed funds quickly (typically within two weeks of approval) and has processed 72 COVID-19 grants totaling more than $2.3 million, building on over $5.2 million in grants historically that have helped more than 2,400 families.
