Case Study: Garnet Health Foundation raises nearly $150,000 for Emergency Coronavirus Fund with Blackbaud's JustGiving

Foundation helps provide PPE to health care heroes with peer-to-peer fundraising

Garnet Health Foundation, which supports a hospital system 60 miles north of Manhattan, had to act quickly when its hospitals became an early COVID-19 hotspot and demand for PPE and other supplies surged. Already a long-time Blackbaud customer that had recently moved to cloud solutions, the foundation needed a fast, flexible way to fundraise and mobilize community support.

Using JustGiving and other Blackbaud tools (including Raiser’s Edge NXT for email outreach), the foundation launched an Emergency Coronavirus Fund with peer-to-peer pages, social sharing, and the ability to record offline and in-kind gifts. The campaign raised about $150,000 in six weeks and nearly $300,000 across COVID-19 efforts in six months, funding PPE, supporting staff and families, and galvanizing widespread community engagement.
