Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief network serving every U.S. state and Puerto Rico, faced an outdated, hard-to-manage website that wasn’t mobile-friendly or built to convert awareness into sustained engagement and unrestricted donations. The organization needed a modern digital hub that would serve people seeking local resources, funnel visitors from awareness to action, and drive fundraising.
Working with Blackbaud to deploy Luminate CMS and a fully responsive, personalized site (including a food-bank locator and distributed content workflow), Feeding America improved content freshness and tracking of user engagement. Within a year email conversion rose nearly 250%, the organization raised $9.3 million in 2016 with over 33% of online revenue from monthly gifts, and online revenue now accounts for more than one third of overall direct marketing revenue, while access and engagement across audiences significantly improved.
