Winchester College, a leading UK independent school with a 10,500-strong database of pupils, alumni (Wykehamists), parents, governors and friends, faced a growing events and engagement challenge after merging its Development and Alumni departments—running over 40 events a year and needing a way to engage a geographically dispersed alumni community while continuing to manage fundraising and research in The Raiser's Edge. The College also had to accommodate differing international tax and giving regulations.

Winchester implemented Blackbaud NetCommunity to launch an alumni website for sharing news, accepting donations and handling event registration and payments online. The site integrates with The Raiser's Edge so activities update individual records automatically, enables email communications that reduce direct-mail costs, and has improved event participation and supporter engagement.
