A Blackbaud Case Study
Ecojustice Canada is the country’s only national environmental law charity, using legal action from offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, and Toronto to defend nature and public health. After more than three years without a full database review, the organization faced an influx of new, lapsed, and dormant donors and needed to boost direct-mail response rates, identify new major and mid-level prospects, and prioritize stewardship with limited staff resources.
Ecojustice ran its full database through Blackbaud Target Analytics’ ProspectPoint predictive modeling, which produced velocity ratings, giving propensity scores, and target gift ranges. The insights helped the team pinpoint at‑risk donors and “rising stars,” optimize ask amounts, focus direct-mail and phone efforts, identify geographic areas with major-giving potential, and create 30/60/90‑day action plans—enabling more efficient stewardship and smarter prospecting without expanding staff.
