Dragonfly Forest Increases Engagement, Participation, and Fundraising Success with Friends Asking Friends

Dragonfly Forest, Inc. is a nonprofit that provides year‑round camp experiences for children with autism and other medical needs. The organization launched the Young Friends of the Forest program after kids expressed interest in fundraising to send peers to camp, but with limited staff it needed an easy, scalable way to support tech‑savvy young fundraisers.

Dragonfly implemented Friends Asking Friends (via Blackbaud Sphere) to give participants a simple online platform to solicit donations, create teams, and add events quickly. About 150 Young Friends have raised $10,000 to date; the “Get Piggy With It” campaign raised more than half the previous year’s total in under two weeks, sign‑ups have more than doubled, and the group expects to surpass its 2012 campaign goal.
