Diocese of Trenton, which supports 39 Catholic schools across four counties, needed to expand fundraising beyond its traditional alumni appeals and had only six weeks to prepare for #GivingTuesday. The challenge was to quickly engage a broader base of supporters—parishioners, families, and new donors—while keeping communications consistent across individual schools.
Partnering with Blackbaud, the diocese launched a peer-to-peer campaign in just two weeks, raising nearly $18,000 on #GivingTuesday and more than $60,000 overall while acquiring 131 new donors. Additional Blackbaud tools (like Credit Card Updater) cut daily declined cards from 10–15 to 1–2 and drastically reduced follow-up work, and the diocese is now planning to scale parish-level fundraising and automate data connections to deepen engagement.
