A Blackbaud Case Study
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), a statewide extension of Cornell University serving 50+ county offices, faced challenges from a decentralized operating model, complex grant and reporting requirements, and heavy manual effort that limited visibility and strained IT resources. The organization needed a cloud-based, nonprofit-specific accounting system that could enforce stronger internal controls, simplify grant fiduciary reporting, and reduce overhead across diverse local offices.
CCE selected Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT to standardize configuration and processes, enable real-time grant and project reporting (including indirect cost allocation and cost-sharing), and lower IT operational load. With Blackbaud’s change-management support and nonprofit focus, CCE gained greater transparency, more efficient financial operations, and faster, centralized reporting across its statewide network.
