Cincinnati Public Radio, which operates three stations serving Greater Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio, needed a more efficient way to manage fundraising and recurring donors. Although they used Raiser’s Edge for donor records, they relied on separate email and in‑house systems for pledge drives, creating manual imports/exports and extra work to process sustainer donations.
The broadcaster implemented Luminate Online, Blackbaud Merchant Services and Credit Card Updater to unify email, payments and recurring-donor management. As a result, sustainers grew to nearly 7,000, recurring gifts now exceed $1.1 million annually (about $1.9 million processed through Luminate), declined gifts dropped thanks to automated card updates, and reconciliation and manual outreach were significantly reduced.
