A Blackbaud Case Study

Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry applies lessons from immersive workshop to daily operations

Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry, a Charleston nonprofit that invites children of all backgrounds to learn through play, faced the ongoing challenge of keeping up with a rapidly growing community while turning visitors into members and donors. The museum needed better fundraising systems, clearer donor segmentation, and more efficient ticketing and payment processes to support outreach, programming, and sustainable growth.

By partnering with Blackbaud for fundraising and relationship management, ticketing, analytics, and merchant services—and participating in immersive, gamified trainings and targeted workshops—the museum streamlined check-in and payments, learned data-driven donor segmentation and communications, and adopted grant-writing best practices. Those changes produced more actionable fundraising and engagement strategies, smoother guest experiences on busy days, and stronger capacity to reach and serve a broader, more diverse audience.
