Children’s Museum of Atlanta Finds One System, Altru, to Address the Needs of Multiple Departments and Functions

Children’s Museum of Atlanta, a hands-on museum that opened in 2003 to spark imagination and learning for children and families, faced operational strain from using multiple, nonintegrated systems for ticketing, retail, development, membership, and accounting. The disconnected platforms forced double data entry and made monthly financial reconciliation difficult for the accounting team.

The museum adopted Blackbaud’s Altru as a single, hosted system to handle ticketing, events, retail, development, memberships and accounting. As a result, staff can now track constituent visit frequency (helping drive higher membership renewal rates) and avoid the costs and hassles of maintaining servers and managing multiple software upgrades.
