The Buffalo Museum of Science, a nonprofit with more than 700,000 specimens and artifacts, needed a single system to centralize online ticketing, email marketing, membership and group sales after an in‑house ticketing attempt fell short. The need became urgent while planning the “Mummies of the World” exhibition, which required timed ticketing and membership discounts.
The museum selected Altru, led by CFO Hope Kianka’s search, to provide online timed ticket sales, easier scanning and ticket management, and a unified view of member and visitor behavior. The platform enabled online registrations (improving guest experience), real‑time visitor feedback, and more targeted communications—supporting the museum’s recent modernization and future strategic decision‑making.
