A Blackbaud Case Study

Preview of the Brown University Case Study

Brown University - Customer Case Study

Brown University launched the BrownTogether campaign in 2015 to secure the resources needed to advance its strategic vision—accelerating research, recruiting top scholars, upgrading facilities, and making a Brown education more affordable—so the institution could help address pressing 21st‑century societal and global challenges and reduce student debt burdens.

Through a comprehensive fundraising effort, BrownTogether secured more than $3 billion from over 66,000 donors, including $347 million for financial aid and a $100 million gift to name the Carney Institute for Brain Science. Highlights include removing loans for more than 1,500 undergraduates via The Brown Promise (contributing to a 56% drop in students incurring debt), funding 110 endowed professorships, building a new Engineering Research Center and performing arts and wellness facilities, and raising record annual support—results that exceeded the campaign goal more than a year ahead of schedule and set the stage for continued fundraising.
