A Blackbaud Case Study
The Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments (ASCOG), a voluntary regional association serving eight counties since 1969, provides planning and support services for local governments across areas like workforce development and aging services. When executive director Ronnie Ward learned their accounting system was outdated, ASCOG staff reviewed six vendor proposals to find a replacement that could accurately track expenses by program and produce transparent, audit-ready reports for public funds.
ASCOG selected Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, which enabled detailed account coding, program-level expense tracking (including multi-program charges), and far more flexible reporting. The new system improved transparency and faster reporting to directors, reduced paper use through web access, supported better budget planning, and is expected to meet ASCOG’s needs for the next five to ten years—helping staff work more efficiently to serve the region.
