Asheville Humane Society is the only open‑admission shelter in Buncombe County, providing shelter, medical care, behavioral testing, and adoption services for lost, surrendered, and mistreated animals while offering community resources and clinics. Wanting to expand its digital giving, the organization sought a peer‑to‑peer fundraising solution and support to launch a campaign that would engage supporters and boost donations.
Working with Blackbaud and everydayhero, Asheville Humane Society launched the Paw It Forward crowdfundraising campaign—starting with a soft launch of staff, board members, and volunteers as ambassadors, a dedicated microsite, social and email promotion, and ongoing coaching from Success Services to re‑energize outreach. In two months the campaign raised $37,500 from 497 total donations, with 88 active campaigners using personal everydayhero pages to support the cause.
