The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 1994 that has raised over $23 million for ASCE programs, sought to grow online giving by making donations easier on its website. It needed its donation page to match the site’s look and feel, eliminate a third‑party payment processor, and integrate with its existing Raiser’s Edge database to build on staff expertise.

ASCE implemented Blackbaud Online Express with Blackbaud Merchant Services, integrated with The Raiser’s Edge, enabling seamless online payment processing and capture of donor data for targeted communications. The change eliminated the external vendor, improved the donor experience, and helped drive a 39% increase in online contributions from 2012 to 2013 while strengthening the organization’s fundraising and program support capabilities.
