A Blackbaud Case Study
After deadly tornadoes struck the Southeast on April 27, 2011, American Red Cross East Alabama faced an urgent need to raise funds and reach donors quickly to support relief and recovery. The chapter needed a fast, scalable way to solicit and process donations and to tap into regional networks, including Auburn University alumni.
Partnering with Auburn and using Blackbaud’s eTapestry online fundraising pages, the chapter launched pages within days and sent links to about 70,000 alumni and supporters. The effort generated thousands of donations from individuals, student groups and businesses, raised more than $120,000, accelerated relief distribution, expanded the donor base and strengthened the Red Cross’s partnership with Auburn.
