A Blackbaud Case Study
Amarillo Area Foundation serves over 400,000 people across 26 counties and 30,000 square miles of the Texas Panhandle. Tasked with engaging rural communities and giving smaller grassroots nonprofits access to modern fundraising tools, the foundation set an ambitious #GivingTuesday goal—building on $173,000 raised in 2017 to challenge the region to reach $500,000 in 2018 and extend reach into all counties.
By implementing Blackbaud’s peer-to-peer fundraising solution (along with analytics, fund accounting, marketing, and CRM) and training local organizations, the foundation hit the $500,000 goal before #GivingTuesday, exceeded a revised $750,000 target, and raised over $860,000 in nine days—benefiting 108 nonprofits and drawing donors from 22 states. “With Blackbaud, smaller nonprofits were able to have the same level of technology as other organizations with fancy websites. It gave us the opportunity to reach some rural organizations through technology. Some received their first online gifts ever.”
