A Blackbaud Case Study
Albany Berkeley Girls Softball League (ABGSL) is a volunteer-run youth sports organization that accepts every girl regardless of ability to pay. With low dues and a single annual fundraiser, the Bat-A-Que, the league relied on paper pledge sheets that were time-consuming to process and limited reach—creating a pressing need for a more efficient, modern fundraising approach.
ABGSL adopted the everydayhero platform to create individual fundraising pages with social sharing, online donations, and automatic receipts, making it easy for players, families, and alumni to raise money and engage supporters. The switch boosted participation and efficiency: the Bat-A-Que grew from typical proceeds of about $24,000 to over $40,000, and then $58,000 the following year, while volunteers reclaimed time and the league strengthened its long-term sustainability.
