AID Atlanta Enhances Development and Increases Its Online Community with Blackbaud NetCommunity

AID Atlanta, the largest and most comprehensive AIDS service organization in the Southeast, faced growing demands to expand its online presence and handle increased event fundraising while maintaining its long-standing constituent database in The Raiser's Edge. After initially using a competitor’s event software that failed to deliver a promised Raiser's Edge plug‑in and offered poor support, the organization needed a database-driven website and seamless integration between online tools and its donor database to build community, streamline events, and improve constituent engagement.

In 2006 AID Atlanta implemented Blackbaud NetCommunity (and later Blackbaud Sphere’s Friends Asking Friends), gaining reliable customer support and tight integration with The Raiser's Edge plus email solicitation and online event fundraising. The site now supports one-click donations and recurring gifts (replacing manual PayPal entries), automatic capture of class sign-ups and volunteer data into the database for cultivation, and fully online class and event registration—significantly reducing manual processing and improving donor and volunteer conversion.
