A Blackbaud Case Study
Age Exchange is a UK charity, founded in 1983, that uses reminiscence techniques to reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing—reporting a 42% improvement in wellbeing and a 25% improvement in mood and behaviour for people with dementia. Facing fragmented data, no central fundraising system and heavy reliance on grants, the organisation needed to consolidate records and diversify income through individual and corporate giving.
They implemented eTapestry to centralise donor data and manage communications, making supporter engagement (for example Volunteer Week) simple and regular. The system saved staff time, enabled Gift Aid claiming and supported their first fundraising appeal: a £1,800 investment that delivered £16,000 in income. As a result, Age Exchange is increasing revenue streams and redirecting time and funds to services and research.
