ABF The Soldiers' Charity - Customer Case Study

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the national charity of the British Army, providing lifetime support to soldiers, veterans, and their families. Seeking to open up fundraising to people who couldn’t attend physical events and to reach new audiences, they launched two Virtual Fundraising Events but lacked the in‑house technology and expertise to deliver the targeted customer journeys and behavioural communications required for success.

Blackbaud Digital Services built a branded microsite, registration platform, participant tracking and milestones, behavioural communications, and Gift Aid–compliant processes—integrating with Raiser’s Edge®—to deliver the campaigns. The results exceeded expectations: Operation Bletchley achieved over 700 sign‑ups against a target of 200, raised over £30,000, engaged a new (65% female) audience, and established a digital platform to drive future retention and lifetime value.
