Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. needed a fast, reliable reservations backbone for its European headquarters in Brussels supporting 170 hotels and chose Black Box Network Services to build a new data center. The project required installing up-to-date fiber optic and Category 6 UTP cabling in an unfinished space one floor below the existing center, with an aggressive six working day turnaround and minimal disruption to live reservations.

Black Box Network Services conducted on-site surveys, connected and moved racks, servers, switches and routers, installed networking gear, and ran and tested more than 200 fiber and CAT6 interconnections including a multi-floor fiber backbone. The solution was delivered on time and on budget, and the Starwood reservation system experienced only a one-hour interruption, meeting the tight schedule and operational requirements.
