ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion IP-based KVM Upgrade for Broadcast Control Rooms

ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion, a broadcast division seeking to modernize its control rooms, needed to replace aging analog KVM systems in control rooms 7, 8 and 9 to support high-definition, tapeless production and greater operational flexibility. After evaluating digital KVM options, ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion selected the Agility IP-based KVM solution from Black Box Network Services to migrate to a standards-based, IP-ready infrastructure.

Black Box Network Services deployed its Agility IP-Based Switching and Extension system with iPATH controllers, installing 83 transmitters, 64 receivers, two controller units (main and backup) and an extra receiver for remote access. The move to Black Box Network Services’ Agility delivered significantly greater image quality and higher resolution, full USB device support, avoided costly recabling by using existing infrastructure, and provided a scalable, future-proof platform that is already being expanded to additional buildings and control rooms.
