Mining Solutions Company Increases Productivity with Black Box Digital Signage

Joy Global, a worldwide leader in high‑productivity mining solutions, needed to standardize and speed site‑wide communication so managers and shop‑floor teams could act on real‑time data. Manual performance boards and printed schedules produced stale information and consumed excessive resources, so Joy Global selected Black Box Network Services’ iCOMPEL Q Series digital signage as the core of a new Live Performance Management (LPM) process.

Black Box Network Services deployed 120 iCOMPEL Q Series units across 20 sites (first 3 sites in 2 months; remaining 17 in 34 weeks), integrating the iCOMPEL web interface with SAP MII, SAP, Kronos, SIMS, and Factory Wiz to display seven key manufacturing metrics in real time. The solution enabled on‑the‑spot, data‑driven decisions, improved productivity and OTD where LPM was implemented, and delivered a measured 3% productivity gain over each site’s year‑to‑date baseline while meeting an aggressive rollout schedule.
