K-12 School District Improves Information Sharing with Vibrant Digital Signage

Elizabeth Forward School District, a six-school K–12 district south of Pittsburgh, needed a dynamic way to showcase student projects and deliver real‑time school and community information. Previously using LCDs tied to laptops, the district sought more design control and the ability to push content to multiple endpoints; they evaluated digital signage and selected Black Box Network Services’ solution, choosing the Black Box iCOMPEL S Series digital signage publisher and players.

Black Box Network Services conducted brainstorming sessions with the district’s IT staff, developed vibrant templates, ensured Apple compatibility, and helped deploy the iCOMPEL S Series across the district over a six‑month rollout (initially 3 displays at the middle school and 4 at the high school, with additional elementary installations underway). The new signage integrated with the LAN, streamlined content updates, and generated positive feedback from students, staff, and parents—boosting community pride and improving communication about events and student achievements.
