ISS Services Real Estate Maintenance - Customer Case Study

ISS Services Real Estate Maintenance needed to centralize CPUs from a crowded, noisy Kuopio control room into a separate computer room while still giving operators multiple displays and full control over video, audio, keyboard/mouse and USB. To ensure near-100% uptime for client HVAC and building systems, they also required real-time environmental monitoring. Black Box Network Services recommended ServSwitch™ Wizard Extenders for KVM and peripheral extension over CATx and the AlertWerks™ II ServSensor V4P for environmental and video monitoring.

Black Box Network Services implemented the ServSwitch extenders to drive video and peripherals from the locked computer room to the control room and deployed the AlertWerks II ServSensor V4P to monitor temperature, humidity, smoke, water leakage, door access and attach a surveillance camera, with critical alerts sent via SMS. The solution freed space, reduced noise and cooling costs, protected CPUs and network equipment, and proved reliable enough that ISS is expanding the ServSensor V4P to 14 other ISS data centers in Finland.
